1. Audience
EkoTV Player is a media player for users of all ages. There is no age restriction on using the app; anyone who can operate the remote control or the app interface can use it. EkoTV Player does not sell or provide content; users add their own content sources.
2. Data We Process
The app and backend services may process the following categories of data to operate the service:
- Device identifiers: the device key generated by the app, device ID and MAC-like identifiers.
- Technical usage data: playlist connection details, per-device advertising status, app version, error logs and connection logs.
- Account and portal data: sign-in information, device pairing, playback preferences and settings managed through the portal.
- In-app purchase information (Android only): purchase status, ad-removal product status and restoration information provided by Google Play. The Samsung Tizen version does not offer in-app purchases.
- Network and security data: IP addresses, request times, security logs and abuse-prevention records.
3. How We Use Data
- To operate live TV, movie, series and playlist management features.
- To provide device authorization, ad-supported or ad-free access and portal management.
- To apply and restore ad-removal purchases made through Google Play on Android.
- To protect the service and prevent abuse and excessive requests.
- To identify technical issues, improve performance and maintain compatibility.
4. Advertising and Third-Party Services
On Android, the ad-supported version may use third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob. These services may process device and usage data under their own privacy policies. In-app purchases in this version are processed through Google Play Billing.
The Samsung Tizen (Samsung TV) version does not display ads or offer in-app purchases. This version does not use Google AdMob, Google Play Billing or Samsung Checkout. Access is verified using a single-use license code entered by the user.
5. Data Sharing
Personal data is not sold except as required by law. Data may be shared with infrastructure, advertising and payment providers only to the extent necessary to operate the service.
This does not apply to the LG webOS version; see section 10.
6. Retention and Security
Data is retained only as long as needed. Session security, basic rate limiting, system logs and administrative controls help reduce unauthorized access. No method of internet transmission can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices
- On Android, you can restore purchases through Google Play. This does not apply to Samsung Tizen, which has no in-app purchases.
- You can contact us to request updates to or deletion of portal and device information.
- Your advertising experience may vary depending on your account and purchase status.

10. LG webOS
The LG webOS version processes the categories described above: device identifiers, playlist connection details, portal operations and security records. To bind the licence to the TV, the app sends the device identifier provided by the LG TV operating system (LGUDID), a device key generated by the app and a MAC-style identifier to our server. Playlist URLs you add, and any username and password for them, are stored on our server so your playlists can be synchronised with the web portal and your other devices. The parental PIN is verified on our server; watch history and favourites stay on the TV.
This version shows no advertising and has no in-app purchases. It does not use Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, Samsung Checkout or LG payment services. Every TV gets a 7-day trial; after that, access is verified with a device licence activated at ekotvplayer.com.
Data collected in the LG webOS version is not shared with any third-party company or organisation; it is processed only on ekotvplayer.com infrastructure. You can request deletion of device-related data through the account and data deletion page.
